2Pac was my role model when I started rapping back in the days – Lord Kenya (Video)

Every celebrity once had a role model and some still have even though they’re role models themselves and according to Lord Kenya who is currently an Evangelist, his role model was 2Pac.

In an interview on Pure FM, the award-winning Ghanaian Hiplife artiste stated that when Hiplife started back in the days, he was always doing his own thing but upon hearing 2Pac’s songs, he knew he was the right person to learn from that was when he started learning from his rap style and aggressiveness which translated into his music and rap style.

Explaining why he chose the late rapper as his role model, he revealed that listening to his music, he felt the connection and could picture his lyrics and understand them. He described 2 Pac as a literature rapper who churned words the way he liked.

“It was [2] Pac. He was a literature rapper. That’s why he is still relevant. Poetry is powerful.”

“Pac hadn’t come into the scene when I was rapping. I was an underground rapper when I first heard him and I was like ‘this is what I was talking about’.”

“You couldn’t picture him when he is rapping. So, I took inspiration from him and did it in Twi,” he said.
