4Minute Members Profile and Facts

4Minute was a South Korean girl group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2009. It was finally disbanded in June 2016 after unsuccessful contract renewal negotiations between Cube Entertainment and the majority of the group members. The group was made up of Nam Ji-Hyun, Heo Ga-Yoon, Jeon Ji-yoon, Kim Hyuna and Kwon So-Hyun. 4Minue debuted with the single “Hot Issue” then some albums later. The group closed with several awards like the Rookie Award at the 2009 Golden Disc Awards, the K-pop New Artist Award at the 2010 Billboard Japan Music Awards, and the Bonsang Award in 2011, 2012, and 2014 Seoul Music Awards.

4Minute Formation and Members

Cube Entertainment launched the formation of the group and introduction of the 5 member girl group. Before then, the group’s name was “Hyuna”. The first single “Hot Issue” was released on 15 June and had its first television performance on MNet Countdown on June 18.

Nam Ji-Hyun

• She was the Leader, Lead Dancer, Vocalist, and Visual of the group.
  
• Ji-Hyun was born on January 9, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea.
• She graduated from Sangmyung University (with a degree in Contemporary Ballet)
• Ji-Hyun acted in several dramas: “It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl” (2010), “A Thousand Kisses” (2011), “Love and War 2” (2013), “Love Cells” (2014), “Never Die” (2015), “My Little Baby” (2017), “Strongest Deliveryman” (2017), “Grand Prince” (2018), “Monkey and Dog Romance” (2018)

Heo Ga-Yoon

• Heo Ga-Yoon was born on May 18, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea.
• She graduated from Dongguk University (with a film and theatre major).
• In the group, Heo was the main vocalist.
• She acted in the movies “Daddy You, Daughter Me” (2016), and “Drug King” (2017).

Jeon Ji-Yoon

• Jeon Ji-Yoon was the Lead Rapper, Lead Vocalist of the group.
• She was born on October 15, 1990, in Suwon, South Korea.
• Jeon graduated from Kyung Hee University (Post Modern Music major).
• After 4Minute’s disbandment, she signed a contract with JS E&M.

Kim Hyuna

• Kim is the Main Dancer, Main Rapper, Vocalist, and Face of the Group.
• She was born on June 6, 1992, in Jeolla, South Korea.
• Kim Hyuna graduated from Konkuk University (Contemporary Arts major).
• She is the only member who renewed her contract with CUBE Entertainment when 4Minute disbanded, in June 2016.

Kwon So-Hyun

• She is the Lead Dancer, Vocalist, Rapper, and Maknae of the group.
• Kwon was born on August 30, 1994, in South Korea
• She graduated from Dongguk University (Theatre and Film major)
