Stonebwoy’s Ashaiman to the World concert, a free concert organized to say ‘thank you’ to the people of Ashaiman for supporting his music, was staged successfully at the Saka Saka park inside Ashaiman on November 30, 2019.
There are some interesting facts surrounding this year’s edition that we think will intrigue you greatly. See below:
1. This is the 5th edition of the concert
This is the 5th consecutive Ashaiman to the world Concert since its inception in 2015. The concert has gradually become of one of the biggest shows on the entertainment calendar.
2. Shatta Wale’s second appearance
Shatta Wale was made the surprise artist at the 2019 Ashaiman to the world Concert and he did not disappoint as he had all the Bhim fans jamming to his song. His appearance also reinforced the found friendship he has established with the Bhim boss. His first performed at the show in 2017.
3. The show was nearly cancelled
This year’s show was nearly cancelled as its fate hanged in a limbo because there were issues with the Saka Saka park, the venue for the concert.
A disappointed Stonebwoy shared details when Nana Adwoa Sarkodie of Citi News caught up with him.
“The reality is that, for us to have done it four years running, we wish it will stay. One of the major reasons why it is looking like it might not be a possibility [this year], though it has not been written off totally, is because the area is being sold…There is some confusion going on regarding that issue.”
4. Stonebwoy’s wife organised free health screening ahead of the show
Stonebwoy’s wife, Dr Louisa Satekla who happens to be a doctor organised a free health screening ahead of the show free of charge. She and her father who is also a doctor attended to several people a day before the massive program at the Mandela park.
5. Unprecedented crowd
This year’s event witnessed a mammoth crowd not seen before in the history of the show. We cannot tell if SM fans knew their boss was partaking in the concert so they came in their numbers to join the fun.
