Leila Djansi’s Movie “Where Children Play” Has Been Bought In The USA & The Amount Is Something Else

Ghana’s ace Film Maker, Leila Djansi is known for her adroitness in the film making industry, producing films that tell a compelling story matching great picture quality and sound. Her prowess in the film making business, owns to the fact that she attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in the USA.

It’s an undisputable fact that, Leila is an award winning director and has swept many awards for herself and her films. Her movie “I Sing Of A Well” was nominated for 11 African Movie Academy Awards and the film won 3 out of them.

Let’ not muddle your mind with Leila’s achievements yet. It would be recalled that, sometime last year she released a trailer for a movie titled “Where Children Play” which is her second production in Hollywood after the movie “And There Was You”

Yes, that’s why she likes to describe herself as a Ghanaian and American film maker because she makes film for Ghallywood and also strictly Hollywood.

Just incase, you’ve not had the chance to see the trailer for the movie, I have embedded it below so you can watch again.

The movie “Where Children Play” has not been premiered in Ghana yet and Leila has no plans of doing so because a studio in the USA bought the movie and so Leila has no rights over the movie anymore, although she produced it.

In an Interview with me, Leila disclosed that, she  shot the movie, “Where Children Play” on a $500,000 budget and it was all shot in the USA.

The  movie featured acts like Teyonah Parris, Brian White, Leon and several others. Osas Ighodaro also a Nigerian born American was also in the movie.

When I learned Leila sold the movie to a studio, I was curious to know how much she sold it for. All attempts to get Leila to disclose to me how much she sold the movie for failed completely as she remained tight lipped about the whole deal.

My eagerness  to know how much she sold the movie for, got me speaking to different people who would be close to Leila. My discovery shocked me and it made me understand why the 34 year old film maker is living the life right now in Los Angeles.

The source disclosed to me that, the movie was bought for a whopping $2 million. That’s a hell lots of money if converted into Ghana cedis.

Belle is  beautiful young woman who never found a bright future because she was too busy running away from a heartbreaking past. But news of her mother passing away brings Belle back home to her family and the painful memories she tried to leave behind. Only when she finds the strength to confront her family’s shameful history does Belle learn that forgiveness has the power to heal the scars of a broken childhood and unlock her heart to the possibilities of love.

Ghbase.com has been hinted that, the movie will be premiered on TV3 by early March, so Ghanaians can also have a taste of the $2 million movie. The movie is also available worldwide on platforms like Netflix( not Netflix Africa), Amazon and several others.
