It’s common knowledge that many musicians, especially performers, are plagued with drug and alcohol addiction. Why do so many musicians have drug problems? Why musicians, but not carpenters, or firefighters? A question to be answered in another day.

Well, Highlife artiste, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu known in showbiz circles as K. K. Fosu has disclosed that about 99% of Ghanaian musicians including gospel musicians smoke marijuana on daily basis, therefore, it’s high time the government considered legalising it.

According to him government should rather make laws that ban the use of Tramadol and make the use of wee legal because a lot of people have died using Tramadol but smoker like himself are still alive and healthy. KK Fosu in an interview on Accra-based Kasapa FM posited that;

“Hard drugs include cocaine and stuff, which I will never tolerate, but wee is normal. Sometimes, wee is recommended to asthmatic patients to enhance their recovery.

“Many people take wee, we are just being hypocrites. I’m not saying we should legalize it in the sense that people will feel obliged to use it as and when they like, at least there should be a of bit respect for people around them. The use of Tramadol is becoming dangerous, I hear little kids in Junior High School even take it, which is very wrong”.99% of artistes in Ghana are wee smokers – KK Fosu alleges

In the candid opinion of KK Fosu, because the greatest number of musicians take marijuana, it’ll be better off if the government of Ghana take measures to legalize it. Recall that Blakk Rasta sometime ago also voiced same opinion.
