Seasoned Ghanaian broadcaster, Bernard Avle believes the court was harsh on Akuapem Poloo by sentencing her to three months in prison.
According to the Citi Breakfast Show host, the court should have been a bit lenient with her and considered her as a first-time offender.
Speaking this morning on his radio show after news broke announcing that Akuapem Poloo has been sentenced to a 90-day jail term, Bernard Avle said he believed Akuapem Poloo had learned her lesson just by going through the court’s process thus the court should have been a bit considerate.
“I think the court’s judgement on Akuapem Poloo is a bit too harsh. She is a first time offender and can you imagine how hard it will be for her son not to see her mother for three months?
“I think the court should have been a bit lenient with her and gave her a softer punishment,” he opined.
Meanwhile, Bernard Avle’s co-hosts Godfred Akoto Boafo thought otherwise while Kokui Salormey Hanson also shared a similar view although she condemned the act by the socialiate vixen.
Background to Akuapem Poloo’s Case
A bit of background to Akuapem Poloo nemesis is that in 2020, the social media personality shared a photo on Instagram where she was completely naked together with her seven-year-old son.
She captioned the photo: “I am naked in front of you because this is how naked I was giving birth to you, so in case you find me lying somewhere don’t pass by but see me as your mom who brought you to life.”
Many who came into contact with the photo believe Akuapem Poloo did the unthinkable. Fast forward, a child’s right activist, Bright Appiah, who is the Director of Child Rights International Ghana sued her for sharing such explicit material and putting her son in harm’s way.
He (Bright Appiah) petitioned the police after the photo went viral on social media, and the matter was referred to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).
Rosemond Brown after her arrest in 2020 admitted posting the nude picture with her son but insisted she did so unintentionally after she had done a video to apologize to Ghanaians and her fans.
