Fluent speaking Ghanaian actress, Ama K. Abrebrese has aimed subtle shots at songstress Becca for ignorantly drawing a parallel line between tribalism in Africa and racism.
An angry Becca branded Ghanaians on social media as hypocrites for joining the bandwagon in demanding justice for George Floyd, an African American who died shortly after a white cop knelt on her neck, a situation that has sparked outraged amongst the black community worldwide.
Becca was particularly not happy that these same people who insulted her when she married her Nigerian husband are now at the forefront fighting for George Floyd. She argued that tribalism is so widespread in Africa hence we have to fight that first before we talk about racism because they are both identical.
However, Ama K. Abrebrese thinks it’s not right for Becca to compare the two.
She wrote: “Sis they are both wrong, however, it’s incomparable to equate the fight for the systemic racism in the USA to African tribalism in marriage and hypocrisy.
You can highlight that without appearing to diminish the fight about police brutality. Murder is not marriage. Love always.”
