Anas to release exposé on galamsey

Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and the Tiger Eye PI are set to release another undercover investigative piece on the 14th of November, 2022.

One of the issues Ghana is fighting against is the illegal mining in the country locally called Galamsey. The president of the Republic Nana Addo promised to end Galmsey in Ghana.

In 2017, President, Nana Akufo-Addo has put his presidency on the line with a commitment to end illegal small-scale mining. He was addressing a forum against illegal mining organized chiefly to get Ghana’s chiefs involved in the fight against illegal mining.

But it seems the president has failed in the fight against Galmasey as reports say that the number of galamseyers in Ghana is unknown but believed to be from 20,000 to 50,000, including thousands from China.

Anas Aremeyaw will be showing his new documentary at the Accra International Conference Centre, Accra. The documentary titled “Galamsey Economy” exposes alleged bribery, and corruption as well as corruption-related offenses. This documentary comes after releasing a documentary on Ghana’s mining sector.
