Asaman Tamfoe shooting: Police arrest sixteen suspects

In connection with a gunshot incident at Asaman Tamfoe in the Eastern Region, the police have detained sixteen people, reports 3News.

On September 29, 2022, an altercation between some people thought to be illegal miners and a local anti-galamsey taskforce took place. One pump action rifle, two excavators, two water pumps, and a battery have all been recovered by police.

The pursuit is on to apprehend the remaining suspects and seize any more weapons they may be carrying. A popular video about the event has been seen by the police and is being examined as part of the inquiry.

In a statement, it was stated, “We would like to reassure the public that all other perpetrators will be apprehended and brought to justice.”
