Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan has rescinded his decision to retire from international football. Gyan took to his twitter handle to announce the u-turn, which he said was influenced by a conversation with president Nana Akufo-Addo.
Asamoah Gyan announced on Monday that he was quitting the national team over head coach Kwasi Appiah’s decision to hand the captaincy of the Black Stars to another player, elevating him to the position of General captain.

Fast forward, Ghana’s incumbent president Akufo-Addo called a meeting with head coach Kwasi Appiah and other members of the technical team on Tuesday, May 22, 2019 to get an understanding of the circumstances that led to Gyan’s abrupt retirement.
