Asamoah Gyan spotted training hard probably to earn a call up to the Black Stars when he heard Ghana will face Uruguay at the World Cup

Former skipper of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has been spotted in a new video shared by blogger Van De Maestro training very hard probably to earn a call up back to the Black Stars.

The draw for the 2022 World Cup which comes off in November in Qatar was held on Friday, April 1 in Doha and Ghana ended up in Group H alongside Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.

Given the unforgettable match between Ghana and Uruguay at the 2010 World Cup which has earned a spot as one of the most thrilling encounters of all time as far as the tournament is concerned and Asamoah Gyan’s role as the villain in that game, Ghanaians are anxiously waiting to pay the South Americans back in their own coin.

In view of this, Gyan who has been without a club for almost two years and has gone out of shape (he has refused to retire, saying there’s more he can offer) has been seen training and scoring incredible goals during a training session per the video we obtained.

The former Sunderland forward holds the enviable record as Ghana’s most prolific striker of all time ahead of legends like Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah. He is also the only African with the most goals at the World Cup.

He also scored Ghana’s first goal in the 2006 World Cup final which was adjudged the fastest goal of the tournament that was eventually won by Italy.

In 2010 Asamoa was BBC African Footballer of the Year, he was a UAE Super Cup Winner in 2012, and an UAE Champion from 2011 to 2015.
