Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have been involved in a fatal motor accident with a member of the team feared dead on their return to Kumasi on Wednesday after their league game in Accra.
Mr Asare the assistant kit manager of the Porcupine Warriors died instantly, Ghbase.com can state!
The Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Steve Polack, Godwin Ablordey and the driver of the team bus identified only as Nana are currently being transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
All the players and officials in the bus number about 35 have been sent to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw while details on what looks like a very serious accident are emerging.
Some players including captain Amos Frimpong, talented play maker Baba Mahama and defender Ahmed Adams all sustained serious injuries in the accident that occurred at Nkawkaw.
Nana Berchie is also reported to be seriously injured while still trapped on this bus which could be seen to have collided with an on-coming truck carrying rice.
The Kotoko team was involved in an accident at the Nkawkaw by pass when the team bus crashed into a Tamale bound Rhino truck with registration AS 7321-13.
The Rhino truck driven by one Francis Abass was said to have been loaded with fertiliser. The Kotoko bus with registration number, GT 4327-16 was completely damaged.
The driver’s mate of the Rhino truck is among those injured. One person died on the spot but his identity is yet to be confirmed.
The rest of the injured are currently receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital. The Rhino truck was Tema-Tamale bound.
