Assessment of Strongman Under SarkCess Music; Progress or Waste of Time?

Strongman Burner  was tipped as the future of Ghana rap after emerging as the winner of “Next Big Thing In GH Hip-Hop” in 2012. Those with this perception were convinced beyond doubt that with a little push especially in the area of finance, the budding rapper will take over from his predecessors in the game of rap.

The people’s prayer (financial breakthrough) in a way came into visible reality when on March 24, 2017, Strongman was signed by Sarkodie’s SarkCess Music. Prior to, Strongman was a member of the MicBurnerz Music, with Azee Ntwene who helped him in progressing in his rap career before joining SarkCess Music.

But then, some people were not too enthused about Strongman’s move to SarkCess Music with varied reasons. For some, the signing of Strongman by Sarkodie was a strategic move to dim the shine of the young chap. Nonetheless, from a close source, core team members of Strongman including Azee Ntwene was not privy of the signing of Strongman.

Fast forward, it’s almost two years since Strongman joined SarkCess Music and per critical assessment of his output, the former member of MicBurnerz Music is fast missing his brighter spot. Strongman has released five songs under SarkCess Music; Transformer, Charcoal, Baby Girl, Life Freestyle and Monster. But none of these songs have been able to make waves in the media.

Strongman under MicBurnerz Music produced by Azee Ntwene was far better comparably to his works under SarkCess Music. Even his last song before joining SarkCess Music titled “Oh Joe” featuring Yaa Pono made a significant impact in the media than all the songs he has released under Sarkodie’s local label.

So, it’s high time Strongman considered putting strategic measures to in place else his long stay at SarkCess Music will be his greatest regret someday. For Sarkodie wouldn’t have achieved all these feat if he was signed by Akon’s Konvict Music. Simply put, Strongman should run for his music career life because he’ll be a failure if he stays at SarkCess Music.
