Tyrone Marhguy has heaved a sigh of relief and shared a toast of happiness following a high court’s ruling ordering the Achimota School to admit dreadlocked students immediately.
Oheneba Nkrabea and Tyrone Marguy acting through their lawyers sent Achimota School to court for refusing them admission because of their hair.
This ruling makes a definitive statement on how dreadlocked student should be treated henceforth and why schools need to move away from discriminating against students for the sake of their hairstyles.
Tyrone Marhguy, in a social media post, has intimated that the court’s ruling is not only a victory for himself and his family but also a victim for the entire Rastafarian community here in Ghana.
He believes the abuse, intimidation and discrimination meted out to people like himself because of their distinct hairstyles will be a thing of the past.
Sharing a family picture, Tyrone Marhguy said Achimota should get ready for him:
World people, “at long last, the battle has ended, Rasta and @marhguy_tyrone is free forever !! Achimota, be ready !! This was my first court case, and my first win
