Bare knuckle fighter Justin Thornton dies 6 weeks after a brutal knockout that left him partially paralyzed, sad video drops 

Bare knuckle boxer Justin Thornton has died at the age of 38 after spending over a month in hospital following a brutal knockout he sustained in the course of the ring during a recent fight.

The late fighter was knocked cold by his opponent in the 19 seconds in the first round in a fight took place on 20 August, at BKFC 20 in Mississippi,

Thornton’s death was confirmed by Dave Feldman, the president of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).

“This morning we were very saddened to be notified of the passing of one of our fighters, Justin Thornton, who competed at BKFC 20 on August 20, 2021,” he said.

“We join the rest of the combat sports community in sending our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Although the injuries at first pointed towards possible paralysis, an infection of the spinal cord was later discovered, leading to multiple organ failure, followed by the fighter’s death.
