Former President Mahama has urged President Akufo-Addo to be considerate about the sufferings and plights of Ghanaians and work to help them.
In his May Day message to all Ghanaians, the 2020 NDC flagbearer entreated the president not to be unperturbed about the untold suffering he has brought on Ghanaians through the increase in taxes.
Mahama intimated that President Akufo-Addo has not helped Ghanaians by raising taxes but failing to raise the salaries of workers.
On a May Day, where workers are being celebrated for their work and service, Mahama believes Akufo-Adoo needs to look in the direction of the citizenry and out of compassion lend a helping hand.
Mahama also used the opportunity to promise Ghanaians of the NDC’s determination to bring hope and prosperity to all Ghanaians when they eventually take over the affairs of the nation. He also bemoaned the onset of “Dumsor”, the irregular supply of water and gross poverty that has left many people impoverished.
Mahama also urged Akufo-Addo to allow for the freedom of expression and refrain from impeding the media from carrying out the true mandate of speaking truth to power and criticizing the works of his government.
