“Be Vigilant!”- Ransford Gyampo To Party, Agents As He Raises Concern Over Potential Stuffing Of Nose Masks With Thumb-Printed Ballots Papers

Senior Lecturer at the Political Science Department at the University of Ghana, Ransford Gyampo has urged party agents to be vigilant.

Ransford Gyampo’s call is a result of concerns he raised about the positioning of voting boots where he said they could be positioned in a way that would make it possible to check if anyone has any already thumb-printed ballots, which they could put in the ballot boxes, hidden in nose masks, without having to see who they are voting for as this is a secret ballot.

Wearing of nose masks to the polling stations is necessitated by the coronavirus and that is to prevent the spread of the virus at the centres.

Mr Gyampo’s concern is not out of place as this is very much a possibility where unscrupulous people could stuff their nose masks with already thumb-printed ballots.

“Let the polling booths be positioned such that, though we cannot see who one is voting for, we can see whether one is removing an already stamped & thumb-printed ballot paper, hidden in a nose mask & dumping in the ballot box
Yes party agents, do not be lousy. Be vigilant!” Ransford Gyampo wrote on Facebook.
