Senegalese-American singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and actor from New Jersey, Aliaume Damala Badara Akon Thiam, known mononymously as Akon, has dished out some advice on what is expected of humanity.

In a post sighted by GhBase.com, Akon stated that for someone to be called a good person doesn’t necessarily depend on the person’s religious, political or social background.

Aside being a musician, Akon has become one of the celebrated celebrities in the world for his charitable deeds.

Akon who grew up in Kaolack Region, Senegal, a town without electricity decided to change the lives of his people by providing them electricity through solar energy.

Akon has since become a beacon of hope in Africa.

In the post on his Facebook page, Akon wrote “Being a good person doesn’t depend on your religion, status, race, color, political or culture. It depends on how you treat others”.
