Controversial dancehall and afrobeat artist Shatta Wale has said that he felt like he was on vacation when he was put in jail.
Recall that Shatta Wale was arrested a few months ago after causing fear and panic with his fake gun shot at East Legon. His friends aided him to spread the piece of news on social media causing fear among his fans.
Shatta Wale faked his gunshot after a man of God prophesized his death on live radio, Accra FM during an interview with Nana Romeo. He was trialed to court and spent a few days in police cells.
The “On God” hitmaker says that he was not humbled by the situation as people think but felt like he was on a vacation.
Shatta Wale further explained that the inmates did not treat him any differently from how his fans have always done.
“When I went to jail, I actually felt like I was at home. Because people have been in there for 30 years, and they’ve never seen Shatta Wale. So, as they saw me, they fetched water for me. Some brought me food (mostly from their visitors). Just like the way people see me on the streets and kneel down, it was the same way in the jailhouse,” he revealed in an interview on TV3’s Showbiz 360.
He added that “it wasn’t like they took me there to suffer, it was like a vacation. It didn’t really humble me.
