American politician and academic administrator Benjamin Eric Sasse has been Nebraska’s junior senator since 2015. He is a Republican Party supporter.

Sasse, who was up in Plainview, Nebraska, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in government from Harvard University, a master’s degree in liberal arts from St. John’s College, a doctorate in American history from Yale University, and a master’s degree in history from St. John’s College.

Sasse won a second term in office in 2020. Sasse was one of seven Republican senators who voted on February 13, 2021, to convict Donald Trump of inciting an uprising in his second impeachment hearing.

Sasse was the only finalist, according to the University of Florida’s presidential search committee, which made its announcement on October 6, 2022. The nomination will be discussed by the university’s board of trustees during its meeting on November 1, 2022.
