Days after his name popped up in his first ever international award scheme, precisely the BET HipHop Awards, Black Sherif has gained a shot at another prestigious award- MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) 2022.
Recall that Blacko was nominated in the Best International Flow category which he lost to Benjamin Epp.
This time around, Sherif will have to battle it out with Ayra Starr (Nigeria), Tems (Nigeria) Burna Boy (Nigeria), Zuchu (Tanzania) and Musa Keyss (South Africa) in the Best African Act category.
This year’s awards ceremony will come off on Sunday, November 13 in Düsseldorf, Germany, to honour the achievements of international artists with prestigious prizes and memorable appearances by music legends.
The MTV Europe Music Awards are awards presented by Paramount International Networks to honour artists and music in pop culture.
It was originally conceived as an alternative to the MTV Video Music Awards, which are hosted annually in the United States.
Black Sherif recently dropped his much anticipated maiden album which he has aptly titled, The Villain I Never Was.
Announcing the album to his teeming fans on Twitter, Sherif wrote, “It took me everything to give life to this body. The one thing in my life that I gave everything up for.
There is life in this body, I hope it treats you good and speaks to you like I want it to. My debut album is “The Villain I Never Was”. Available on all stores on 06-10-2022.”
‘The Villian I Never Was’ is a 14-track album that has only one feature; Burna Boy.
The album has tracks including, ‘The Homeless Song’, ‘Oil In My Head’, ’45’, ‘Prey Da Youngsta’, ‘Sad Boys Don’t Fold’, ‘Konongo Zongo’, ‘Waste Man’, ‘We Up’, ‘Toxic Love City’, ‘Don’t Forget Me’, and ‘Oh Paradise’.
