Bob Geldof Parents: Meet Robert “Rob” Geldof And Evelyn Geldof

Robert Frederick Zenon Geldof, an Irish musician, songwriter, and political activist, was born in Dn Laoghaire, County Dublin, on October 5, 1951.

His paternal grandmother was Amelia Falk, a British Jew from London who had both German and Jewish ancestry. When Geldof was six years old, his mother, Evelyn Geldof, died at age 41 from a brain hemorrhage.

Geldof experienced bullying at Blackrock College while he was a student due to his poor rugby skills and the fact that Zenon was his middle name.

Before moving to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to work as a music journalist for The Georgia Straight, he worked as a slaughterman, a road navvy, and a pea canner in Wisbech, England.

Zenon Geldof, his paternal grandfather, was a Belgian immigrant and hotel chef. Amelia Falk, a British Jew from London who was of German and Jewish ancestry, was his paternal grandmother.
