Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the convener of #FixTheCountry, has called on the people of the Volta region to boo President Akufo Addo when he visits the area for the celebration of Ghana’s independence.
On Monday, March 6th, the President, members of his government, and other dignitaries will travel to Ho, the capital of the Volta Regional Government, for the 66th celebration.
Historically, it has been held in a different part of the country each year, and this year it is the Volta Region’s time to play host.

The celebration is held annually to honor the efforts of Ghana’s ancestors, who fought colonial control for decades.
However, according to Barker-Vormawor, it is the ideal venue to share the frustration and pain felt by Ghanaians under the New Patriotic Party administration of Akufo-Addo.
“Boo him louder than he has ever been booed in his life before. Let him understand the trauma of his Presidency.
“Your ancestors fought for Independence. Singlehandedly Gbedemah kept the Revolution alive when Nkrumah was jailed.
“Your charge on this Independence Day is to express on behalf of all of us, our national indignation to a person that represents Everything that Nkrumah will be repulsed by,” he wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
