Boybits Victoria, a basketball legend and former player of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), passed away on March 1, 2023. He began his career during college and eventually played for the PBA where he was highly regarded as the best and most skilled player among his teammates during his playing era.
Victoria won numerous titles for his team and was awarded Rookie of the Year in 1994 after a standout college career at San Beda. He was chosen third overall by Swift in the PBA draft.
Following his retirement, Victoria briefly coached and later became a panelist for both radio and TV coverage of the league. In 2018, he spent several weeks in a hospital after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that, if left untreated, could result in paralysis.
