Kwasi Kyei Darkwa alias KKD who has been in police custody since December 27, 2014 for allegedly raping one 19 year old girl in a hotel bathroom has been denied a request for bail again.
There was a hearing for his bail application seeking his release today, but has been adjourned to the 13th of January, 2015. The presiding judge, who sat on the case, Justice Essel Mensah adjourned the case because the prosecutor argued he received the bail application from the lawyers of KKD on Tuesday evening, and needed more time to study the application. The request of the prosecutor was accepted by the judge.
But then again, the hearing of the substantive case against KKD for allegedly raping Ewureffe Orleans Thompson is scheduled for a District court in Accra on Thursday, 8th January, 2015.
The fashionista and ace broadcaster has denied the rape allegations and said he had “consensual sex” with Ewureffe Orleans Thompson.
