News reaching is that Forestry Commission boss Sir John, formerly the general secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party has passed on.

Sir John, known in real life as Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie is reported to have died in Accra after a short illness.

Sources say he was on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital last Thursday and then was later moved to the ICU when things got tougher. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it and gave up the ghost.

He entered into private law practice in 1981 and served as the general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2010-2014 after which he became the CEO of the Forestry Commission in 2017.

We’ll update you when we get more details on the exact thing that caused his birth.
