Brett Maher is a football player from the United States. He was born on November 21, 1989, in Kearney, Nebraska.

He liked American football from a young age and went to Centennial Public Schools in Utica, Nebraska, before transferring to Kearney High School, where he played football for the Bearcats.

As a senior, he made 8 out of 14 field goals, 41 out of 46 extra points, and the average distance of his punts was 41.1 yards. Brett also played wide receiver. He had 775 yards and 10 touchdowns as a receiver, so the Lincoln Journal Star and the Omaha World-Herald named him an All-State player at the end of the season.

As a redshirt freshman and a sophomore, he played in every game as the holder for field goals and extra points, and he was also Alex Henery’s backup punter.

Brett Maher is the Dallas Cowboys’ placekicker in the National Football League at the moment. During the Cowboys’ Wild Card Game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on January 16, 2023, he missed four of his five extra point attempts.
