Bridegroom mysteriously dies at his wedding in Assin Juaso

A bridegroom has mysteriously collapsed and died at his traditional marriage ceremony last Saturday at Assin Juaso community in the Central Region throwing the community into a state of mourning and fear.

According to a report filed by the Daily Graphic, the deceased, whose name was given only as Kwabena, a.k.a Cowbell lived at Abura Dunkwa with his fiancee whom he has dated for more than three years with whom he had two children.

According to the report, in the morning of the wedding, a snake appeared at the bride’s family house during preparations for the marriage ceremony, but people around managed to kill it.

Shortly after that, the source said, three children in the house, including the couple’s two children, suddenly collapsed, but were revived moments later.

The couple who were determined to marry that day carried on with the wedding despite the collapse of their children. The marriage ceremony continued normally until after the couple’s first dance at the reception.

The residence of the family explained after the couple’s dance the groom complained of pains in the stomach and collapsed afterwards.

He was rushed to the St Francis Xavier hospital at Assin Fosu but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Assin Fosu District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Mr Leonard Abakah, confirmed the story and said the police were still gathering facts on the incident.
