Bukom Banku banned by Ghana Boxing Authority over breach of contract

Popular Ghanaian boxer, Bukom Banku according to report sighted on Graphic.com.gh has been banned by the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) for breach of contract.

According to the report, Bukom Banku has refused to make an appearance for the rematch which has caused the GBA to revoke his boxing license and ordering him to pay ¢17,000 to the promoter of the rematch with Samir, which was originally scheduled to have come off last year.

On March 15, 2018, Bukom Banku and Bastie Samir came into agreement to have a rematch in the 30th of June the same year after their first fight in October 2017 which drew a record attendance at the Bukom Boxing Arena with the then underdog, Bastie, teaching Banku a bitter boxing lesson to emerge as the winner on the night.

The two boxers were set to slug it out again after their first fight in October last year but that fight is yet to be fought as Bukom Banku has refused to appear for the match to be fought; reason for the revocation of his boxing license by the Ghana Boxing Authority.
