The Chief Executive Officer of Rufftown Records, Ricky Nana Agyeman popularly known in the showbiz industry as Bullet has hinted on relocating his record label to Nigeria.
According to him in a recent post on his Instagram page, some laws in the country restrict industry players from making money from their craft.
He stated that these laws were crippling record labels in the country because the laws are not helping them at all.
He cited the law that banned celebrities from endorsing and advertising alcoholic beverages in the country adding that such a law was bogus and needed to be trashed out.
He wrote; “Ghanais not a place to operate a record label business and this is very sad. Record labels do not make money from just shows where their artistes are billed to perform, majority of the money comes from endorsement deals. You people are always goofing with your laws. Do you guys have any idea of the devastasting effects of covid-19 on the creative arts.”
Most creative acts in Ghana have been constantly lamenting on how they have been suffering as entertainers. The likes of Rex Omar has lamented on how the government has totally abandoned the creative industry despite all the promises they made.
It is unclear what Bullet has seen about the Nigerian creative industry and why he wants to move his record label there. Time will definitely tell.
