Rapper Cardi B has inscribed her name in gold after she became the first female rapper in history to have two RIAA diamond-certified songs.
The rapper whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar was acknowledged when US Chat Data shared this new information on their official Twitter page.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) award certifications are based on the number of albums and single sales. When a song or album is certified Diamond it means it has 10,000,000 sales and counting.
Prior to this milestone, Cardi was the first female rapper to have a Diamond certification with her smash hit, ‘Bodak Yellow’ putting her in that enviable league.
Cardi B was more than grateful for the recognition and responded with much pride for this new milestone in her career.
The mother of two wrote;
”Wow I got two Diamond records! Thank you sooo much @maroon5 for including me on this song and this is the song I cater to my daughter every time I perform it.I’m forever grateful.”
