Carson James Wentz is a quarterback in the National Football League who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.

At his best, Wentz is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL, as he is able to use his legs to extend plays and with enough arm strength to move the ball vertically down the field. His quarterback play has helped his team win a Super Bowl at an early stage of his career.

While most NFL quarterbacks play their college football at big-name FBS schools, Carson Wentz played at the FCS level in college.

He played varsity football for North Dakota State University. In his redshirt rookie year, Wentz was a backup quarterback.

His first college start was against Big 12 FCS team Iowa State. He led the Bison to a 34-14 win, possibly the best game in school history. As starting quarterback, he won his first FCS crown.

After that, Wentz led the Bison to a second crown and five FCS wins. Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson chose Carson Wentz second overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Eagles’ first-round QB since Donovan McNabb was Wentz. Wentz started his debut season after the Eagles moved Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings.

Wentz debuted against the Cleveland Browns. He started until an ACL injury ended his 2017 season.

The Eagles won their first Super Bowl without Wentz in 2017. The Eagles defeated Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. Wentz has handled the ups and downs well in a market with NFL’s most vicious fans.
