Cassper Nyovest is known in real life as Refiloe Maele Phoolo born 16th December 1990 in Mahikeng which is known to be a borough of North West, South Africa, his parents are Muzuki and Letsebela Phoolo who had three children with two being boys and a female, the sister is known as Tsholofelo Phoolo and Cassper’s brother, Khotso Phoolo who has died in 2003.

The rapper attended Sol Plaatjie Secondary School and was an athlete who took part in various sports activities but dropped it to start his rap journey at the age of 12 and after failing his Grade 10 exams in 2006, he moved out to his grandmother house in Potchefstroom and decided to drop out of school at the age of 16 in 2007.

Music Journey

The rapper however took his heels and relocated to Johannesburg to pursue his music career after telling his parents that it’s better to hit the road and survive than living in one place to play safely in 2008.

He formed Childhood Gangsta with his friends at the age of 13 which was a hip hop group then later joined a group known as Slow Motion which was having eight members and also signed a record label deal with Impact Sounds but their working relationship ended in 2008 following creative differences issue.

Cassper moved back home after ending his record deal with Impact Sounds and established his own record label but before that, he had the opportunity to jump on a song with the late rapper, Hip Hop Pantsula dubbed “Wamo Tseba Mtho“.

He had his debut single in 2013 titled “Gusheshe” in which he recruited Okmalumkoolkat then went straight to establish his Family Tree Records in 2014 as his second record “Doc Shebeleza” sparked positive reactions and recognition from the public.

His sister got the honor as he named his debut album “Tsholofelo” after her and the body of work accumulated huge success which picked up to become the number one on the iTunes SA album chart.

Cassper Nyovest has since been making huge cash and fame for himself after his debut album to the extent of having his concerts fill up and selling out concerts tickets he organizes.

He’s having a concert with the affix “Fill Up” and he’s currently having eight albums to his credit.

Net Worth & Deals 

Cassper Nyovest has worked with several brands and companies as a brand ambassador and they include, Vodka, Ciroc, MTN, Coca Cola, KFC SA, Nike SA, Castle Lite, and many others. He had his biggest deal with Ciroc after he displayed the product’s bottle in his “Tito Mboweni” music video which led the company to unveil him as a brand ambassador and it has been tipped as one of his biggest deals so far.

Nyovest being an entrepreneur, he has singlehandedly founded the Family Tree Records which was established in 2014 after his departure from Impact Sounds record label and in July 2021, he establishes a sneaker company known as Root of Fame and subsequently launched his own liquor brand also dubbed Billiato.

Personal Life

The rapper has been in a relationship with actress, Boitumelo Thulo as the two confirmed in DRUM magazine that they were dating and had engaged but the duo, later on, denied to have engaged adding that the magazine used that headline to increase sales and they went their separate ways in December 2015.
