Chale Wote Festival CEO, Mantse Accused of Rape and Physical Abuse

Chale Wote Festival has been a popular Ghanaian cultural event over the past years. There are several displays of art from Ghanaians and foreigners. It attracts as many as 50,000 people to Jamestown during the week of the festival.

This year’s event was not as popular as the other years neither did people show much interest during the event. Before the event in August, there were rumours that most of the partners and organizers of Chale Wote walked away explaining the bad organization and little to no interest from people.

Mantse Aryeequaye, has been accused of physically and verbally assaulting the people close to him especially his ex-girlfriend, Dr. Sionne Neely who has released a statement.

Several artistes have also made posts condemning his actions and calling him out because they’re witnesses. Amongst them is Wanlov the kubolor who has also released a video expressing disappointment and anger after Mantse sent police men after him and all the people in his circle calling him out.

TV and Radio presenter, Akua Hanson has also expressed distate after Mantse’s decision to silence witnesses and friends instead of addressing the problem and owning up.
