Charcoal seller commits suicide at toilet facility over 2k debt

A 22-year-old charcoal seller has reportedly committed suicide at a toilet facility over a debt of GHc2,000 at Gomoa Obiri in the Gomoa West District in the Central Region.

According to reports, the 22-year-old the decompose body of the charcoal seller was found hanging in an abandoned toilet facility in Gomoah Obiri.

Kasapa news reporter Yaw Boagyan revealed that the charcoal seller identified as Kobina Gyata was missing for three months in the community.

A collaboration with other nearby communities conducted a search in the towns in the quest to find the deceased but couldn’t find him so many believed that he was on a trip to another town to buy more charcoal for his business.

However, after a few weeks, the community decided to organize another search party after he refused to show up until his decomposed body was found in the abandoned public toilet which is located at the entrance of the Gomoa.

Speaking in an interview, Chief of Gomoah Obiri Nana Bondam V, explained that a client of the deceased gave him about three thousand Ghana cedis to produce charcoal but the deceased failed to do so. However, when the customer decided to come for the bags of charcoal from the deceased no where to be found.
