She drove over the centre line and collided with a car travelling north, which included a young mother and her two small children.
Chiara’s automobile was nearly completely destroyed in the incident. Emergency personnel declared Chiara dead at the scene after she sustained severe injuries.
For treatment, the children and the other driver were brought to WakeMed in Raleigh. It was stated that their condition was steady.
The accident occurred approximately two miles west of Clayton, according to the Highway Patrol, and no charges have been filed. They added that neither alcohol nor speed played a role in the collision.
On the other hand, they cautioned drivers to slow down and use caution when driving on wet roads.
