Comedian Chris Rock has finally broken his silence after he was humiliated at the 2022 Oscars by actor Will Smith following a joke he made about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
During the live telecast of the 2022 Oscars, Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith where he said the wife of the famed actor looked like G.I Jane 2.
The joke, however, didn’t sit well with Will Smith who reiterated it by walking to the stage to slap the comedian on the cheek sending shockwaves across the internet and over million people who were watching the show.
Chris Rock who has remained silent on the incident for some days now has now come out to publicly talk about the incident which will go down in history as one of the most embarrassing moments in the history of the Oscars.
Chris Rock made an emotional return to the stage on Wednesday night at Boston’s Wilbur Theater where he was treated to two back-to-back standing ovations, lasting several minutes.
Addressing the issue, Chris said this;
“Let me be all misty and s***,” Rock said with tears in his eyes, gesturing to the crowd’s warm response.
“How was your weekend?” he quipped, to which the audience responded with laughter.
“I don’t have a bunch of s*** about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I had like a whole show I wrote before this weekend. And I’m still kind of processing what happened, so at some point I’ll talk about that s***. And it’ll be serious and it’ll be funny, but right now I’m going to tell some jokes.”
