In the first leg of their AFCON double-header qualifier, the Black Stars will pay tribute to their fallen hero Christian Atsu during the match against Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The communications head of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, recently confirmed this to reporters on Original FM’s Super Sports Show.
The Black Stars will honour their late member Christian Atsu Twasam during our AFCON qualifier against Angola, Henry Asante Twum said. “All the Black Stars players are very upset about Christian Atsu’s passing,” he added.
Ghana will play Angola in a doubleheader qualifier for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as planned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
On March 23, 2023, the Black Stars will face the Palancas Negras in the first game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, and on March 27, 2023, the rematch will take place there at Estadio 11 de Novembro.
With four points, Ghana is currently in first place in Group E. Prior to this match, they had drawn 1-1 with the Central African Republic and beat Madagascar 3-0. Chris Hughton’s first real test as the Black Stars’ new boss will come in the team’s two games against Angola.
