Content creator, DeGeneral convicted of drug trafficking

Popular Nigerian content creator, Joshua Sunday popularly known as DeGeneral has been found guilty of drug trafficking by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arraigned the content creator alongside a cinematographer, Caleb William.

Justice Daniel Osisgor ruled that the volume of substance was minimal and would convict and caution the defendants rather than sentence them.

The judge however convicted Sunday and William and warned them to go and sin no more after they pleaded guilty through their lawyer, Lilian Omotunde.

The defendants were charged with three counts of trafficking Tramadol and Cannabis Sativa.

DeGeneral and the other cinematographer told the court that they never tasted drugs as the substances were props for the skit they were about to shoot before their arrest.

The prosecutor, Jeremiah Aernan reviewed the facts of the case and tendered evidence through an NDLEA exhibit keeper, Lucky Oghaifu.

These include the defendants’ statement, certificate of test analysis, drug analysis form, packaging of substance form, and request for scientific aid form.
