The favourite to be selected first overall in the 2025 NBA draft is basketball star Cooper Flagg, who is regarded as the top prospect in high school basketball. On Monday, October 30, 2023, he declared his commitment to Duke University. Flagg had three schools come into play before he decided to commit to Duke. UConn and Kansas State were the other two.
He made a formal visit to Storrs, Connecticut in late September, and subsequently cancelled a planned trip to Kansas, leaving only the Huskies and the Blue Devils as potential teams. The Blue Devils gained an advantage when he made a second trip to Duke for their Countdown to Craziness event last weekend.
