Court grants NIA permission to continue Ghana Card Registration amid Coronavirus outbreak

Accra high court has given the National Identification Authority the green light to continue with the Ghana Card registration amidst the deadly Coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The Ghana card registration which is now in the Eastern Region was put on hold following an interlocutory injunction filed by two gentlemen, Kevon Mark-Olive and Emmanuel Akumatey Okrah.

The injunction application was based on the directive given by the president for all mass social gatherings to be banned.

According to the court, the NIA’s decision to go ahead with the registration is not against the President’s directive suspending all public gatherings.
