CPP's Ivor Greenstreet supports NDC's decision to send 2020 election results to the Supreme Court

The 2020 flagbearer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Ivor Kobina Greenstreet has supported the recent decision by the NDC to head to the Supreme Court over the election results.

According to him, it is a great choice that has been made by the party and that will certainly deepen Ghana’s democracy.

Speaking to Citi FM a while ago, Mr Greenstreet said NDC’s contestation of the 2020 election results could see a headway as they head to the Supreme Court.

“Clearly they have several options available to them. They could decide to do nothing, they could continue with their demonstrations. To ensure that the court of opinion understands and hears them, they could also consider going to court if they think that they have evidence enough.”

“Perhaps the evidence could be overturned, I am in no position to determine that… The most important thing is that they do not think that the elections were not conducted in a free fair and transparent manner,” he noted.

Also, the NDP is appealing to the NDC and former President Mahama to concede defeat since, in their estimation, the 2020 election was largely free and fair.
