Popular Radio Presenter Kofi Okyere Darko, popularly known as KOD has said that 12 year old DJ switch is too young to be crowned best DJ of the year at the just ended DJ AWards 2019.
According to the “Starr Drive” host crowning young Disc Jockey (DJ), DJ Switch, ‘DJ of the Year’ at the ended Ghana DJ Awards will mount pressure on her because of her age.
KOD insists that she should’ve been given an honorary award for her efforts but not “pushing her too much by giving her ‘DJ of the Year’.”
KOD, in an interview on Neat FM’s “Entertainment Review”, explained that even though DJ Switch works hard and has graced many international platforms, she deserved “something like the Black Star award or Future award or something that shows we should look out for her in the future.”
“We are pushing her too much fast. Let’s give her the chance to grow naturally. She is Ghana’s property and I believe she is too young for this award. If she is winning Best DJ at this age, then what will she do in the future. We will retire she too early”, KOD said among other things.
He, however, said the 12-year-old DJ shouldn’t feel pampered but rather work hard to sustain her legacy and brand.
