It’s funny how some artists claim they are not interested in awards but will cringe and cry foul when they are nominated in awards schemes and miss out.
Well, Tema-based rapper Dadie Opanka has downplayed the significance of awards in his career in a new interview with DJ Nyaami in an interview on SVTV Africa.
Admittedly, he said awards are good because they motivate an individual to work harder but maintained that’s not a priority for him at the moment.
“Award is good even though it’s no that serious. As a human being, awards make you feel good and gives you and the fans some bragging rights but me personally, award is a secondary priority for me.”
He added that his main priority is to put smiles on the faces of his fans through music and once that’s achieved, he’s satisfied.
Opanka therefore implored his colleagues not to focus on awards but work hard and feed their fans with good music and let their fans be the ultimate judge.
Dadie Opanka is currently promoting his new love song “Sure” which features Adina.
