New Jersey’s Morristown is where Dan Quinn was born. Therefore, he was raised in the nearby Morris Township and attended Morristown High School in Morristown, where he played high school football and earned his diploma in 1989.
Quinn is the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League in America. His full name is Daniel Patrick Quinn (NFL).
He first gained fame when serving as the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive coordinator from 2013 to 2014. During that time, he called the plays for the team’s Legion of Boom secondary.
Under Quinn, Seattle ranked #1 in the league for defense, made two straight trips to the Super Bowl, and took home the first championship for the team in Super Bowl XLVIII. Due to his performance, Quinn was appointed head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, a position he held for six years.
Quinn guided the Falcons to Super Bowl LI in 2016, which was their most successful season under him. However, that achievement was overshadowed by the Falcons’ greatest lead surrender in Super Bowl history. Under Quinn, Atlanta would only reach the playoffs once more, which resulted in his dismissal early in 2020.
Quinn started out as a defensive line coach for the Virginia Military Institute football team in 1995 and the William & Mary Tribe football team in 1994. Quinn was Hofstra’s defensive coordinator from 2000 to 2001 and their defensive line coach from 1996 to 1999.
He had stints with teams like the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks University of Florida, Return to the Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons.
