David Arquette is an actor and former professional wrestler from the United States. He is most known for playing Dewey Riley in the horror film series Scream, for which he received two Blockbuster Entertainment Awards and a Teen Choice Award.

Near a Subud community in Bentonville, Virginia, Arquette was born. He is the youngest child of actor Lewis Arquette and actress Brenda “Mardi” Olivia (née Nowak), who is also a theatrical director, activist, acting teacher, and therapist.
Cliff Arquette, a comedian, was Arquette’s paternal grandpa. David Arquette is distantly related to explorer Meriwether Lewis through his father, who converted from Catholic Christianity to Islam. Arquette’s mother was Jewish (from a family that immigrated from Poland), and he had an Islamic father.
His father had some French-Canadian ancestry; his family’s original surname was Arcouet. All four of Rosanna Arquette’s siblings—Alexis, Patricia, Richmond, and—became actors.
With a father who occasionally struggled with substance misuse, the Arquette family had a unique upbringing. Breast cancer caused their mother’s death.
David Arquette career
1990 marked David Arquette’s first year on television. He made his screen debut in 10 episodes of Fox’s “The Outsiders” and kicked off a 12-episode run on NBC’s “Parenthood.”
He first appeared in the movie “Where the Day Takes You” in 1991. He then starred in “Cruel Doubt,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Grey Knight,” and “At Home with the Webbers” in 1992 and 1993, respectively. David co-starred in the 1994 comedy “Airheads” alongside Adam Sandler, Brendan Fraser, and Steve Buscemi.
He also met Courteney Cox while performing in the Wes Craven horror smash “Scream.” Arquette has appeared in each installment of the “Scream” movie series, which has so far earned $608.5 million; the fifth installment is scheduled to be released in 2022.
