Dean Winters is a famous American actor born on July 20, 1964 in New York City to Patrick Winters who is an electrical engineer and Magna Winters. Dean grew up in Long Island alongside with his three siblings. Their mother died when Dean was still too young.

Dean began his career while studying in London. He did modeling to earn some pocket money. After his graduation from the College, he settled at Manhattan where he began bartend in pubs and bars

He did a summer intensive at Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Also, he undergoes an acting training under William Esper through his brother’s persuasion.

Later, he decided to take acting seriously by involving in some theatre works and the started audition for roles in films and television.

In 1995, he made his first acting debut by playing s recurring role as Tom Mariana in the police procedural drama series called Homicide:Life on the Street where he was featured in three episodes of the series.

After a while, Dean began to land a few more small roles in series like NYPD Blue and The Playroom. He then landed a great opportunity when he was chosen to be starred in a supportive role in the political thriller Conspiracy Theory, where he played the role of Cleet in the series. It was a commercial and critical success.

He also played a supportive role in the film Lifebreath. Dean appeared in a recurring role as Ryan O’Reily in the OZ series in 1997. Due to his enthusiastic performance in the series, he got the opportunity to become a regular character. The OZ series have six seasons and fifty-six episodes.

Dean first leading role was in the Canadian comedy film titled Undercover Angel in 1999. The film was rated as average. Dean continue to appear in guest roles in series including New York Undercover and SexAnd the City.

In the early 2000s, Dean appeared in many supportive roles in films like Brooklyn Bound, Love Rome and Dead Calling and also appeared in the largely successful film P.S. I Love You.

He then appeared in The Twilight Zone and Third Watch series after which he land a leading role as Johnny Gavin in Rescue Me series followed by another recurring role in 30 Rock in 2006 where he played the role of Dennis Duffy.

However, Dean received a Gold Derby nomination for Best Guest Actor for his role in the 30 Rock series. He also appeared in another recurring role a Charley Dixon in Terminator series: The Sarah Connor Chronicles in 2008.

Dean then appeared in another recurring role as Detective Keith The Vulture Pembroke in the comedy police procedural series titled Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He then starred in playing major role in Battle Creek and Divorce.

The actor is known to be engaged in many relationships. Dean Winters has been in a love affair with actress Jennifer Esposito. After a while of dating, they broke up and Dean moved on to date Actress Maggie Marzigiliano.

In 2009, The popular actor suffered from a severe bacteria infection. He also suffered a cardiac arrest while he was being taken to hospital for treatment. Dean stayed at the intensive care unit for three weeks.

A year after, he developed Gangrene which lead to the amputation of his two toes and half of one of his thumb.
