As Ghana is patiently waiting for the declaration of the winner of the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, some results coming in have clearly kicked some people out of their position. Two of such people are Felix Ofosu Kwakye, the former Deputy minister of information under the John Mahama NDC government and George Nenyi Andah, the incumbent deputy minister of information under the Nana Addo NPP Government.

Now, the interesting thing about these two political figures is that they have a lot in common when it comes to the love of women. Earlier this year, an embarrasing picture of George Nenyi Andah, looking stoned while a red “dross” belonging to a lady was seen hanging around his neck in a video that surfaced online.George was trolled on social media by Netizens for being a disgrace to his auspice and publicly embarrassing his wife.

It was further revealed that the red “dross”  belonged to another woman who was not George Andah’s wife. As fate would have it,  Hon. George Andah, the incumbent NPP MP couldn’t hold onto the Awutu-Senya West seat as he was booted out by the NDC candidate Hon. Gizella Tetteh Agbotui; who happens to be the younger sister of Hannah Tetteh, the previous incumbent who Mr Andah defeated in 2016.

Let’s get to the interesting plot of event with Felix Ofosu Kwakye who was also engaged in a scandal after a video of him allegedly having an affair with his side chick surfaced online. In the reports it was revealed that Felix visited his side chick at the wee hours of the night to have a good time when he was caught by the lady’s brother. Note that Felix Ofosu Kwakye conceded to the New Patriotic Party’s Elvis Morris Donkoh after losing Monday’s General Election by 176 votes.

Mr Ofosu polled 24,872 votes while Elvis Donkoh had 25,048 votes and Francis Eghan of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) got 1,001 votes.

Now to the big question, did the love for women caused the downfall of these men? Looking at how they were both engaged in scandals and lost at their various polling stations, it could be said that they were too focused on removing the “dross” of women instead of doing proper campaign.
