Doctors, nurses who came into contact with Obour’s late father test negative for coronavirus

It has been reported that nurses and doctors at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital known formerly as Ridge Hospital who came into contact with Obour’s father have all tested negative to the COVID-19.

These medical staff including seven nurses and three doctors according to reports went through a series of tests after they were exposed when they came into contact with Obour’s late father, who tested positive for coronavirus before his demise.

The former MUSIGA President became the subject of discussion on social media for failing to disclose his father’s travel history to the medical staffs at the Ridge hospital and risking the lives of about 13 nurses who attended to him while on admission.

This information was made known by management of the hospital on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, after the staff members were quarantined for two weeks.

“The above category of workers were quarantined because they had contact with the deceased when he was accidentally admitted and briefly managed at the emergency ward,” the hospital management wrote in the release.

Greater Accra Regional Hospital shut down its emergency ward after the father of the former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) passed away from the virus.
