Doug Hawkins is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Footscray Football Club (now known as Western Bulldogs) in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 1979 to 1996.
He was known for his skill and tenacity on the field, and he played a total of 329 games for Footscray, which was a record at the time of his retirement.
During his career, Hawkins won several awards, including the Charles Sutton Medal (Footscray’s best and fairest award) in 1985 and 1994. He was also named in the All-Australian team three times (1985, 1988, and 1992).
